A recently established AI Act Scientific Panel at the European Union (EU) appointed 60 independent experts, including academics from the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence (CFI).
Professor Seán Ó hÉigeartaigh, Assistant Research Professor Lorenzo Pacchiardi, and Professor José Hernández-Orallo, and former CFI members Charlotte Stix and Anna Katariina Wisakanto have joined the panel on 24-month term.
The Panel advises the AI Office and national authorities on the implementation the AI Act and assessment of the impacts and risks of General-Purpose AI (GPAI) models.
