Professor Anna Korhonen, Director of the Centre for Human-Inspired Artificial Intelligence (CHIA) and Co-Director of ITH, elected as a Fellow at the British Academy.
Professor Korhonen’s election reflects her pioneering contributions to artificial intelligence, natural language processing and interdisciplinary research, as well as her commitment to bringing together technical and human-centred disciplines to address the opportunities and challenges of AI.
“I am deeply honoured. For an AI scientist, this recognition from the UK’s national academy for the humanities and social sciences feels especially meaningful. It is a reminder that the questions that will shape the future of AI are not just technical—they are fundamentally human,” Professor Korhonen commented.
